Built on Trust Since 1991

Nickelatti Construction Co Inc is a family-owned general contractor serving communities across the region — building quality homes and lasting relationships since 1991.

Nickelatti Construction Co Inc Has Been Family Owned and Operated Since 1991

Nickelatti Construction Company (NCC) has proudly served the La Crosse area since 1991. Founded by Mike Nickelatti, the company quickly earned a reputation for exceptional craftsmanship, reliability, and professionalism. As a lifelong member of the community, Mike built his business on quality work, honest relationships, and a commitment to exceeding customer expectations.

In 2000, Elliot Place joined the Nickelatti Construction team and quickly became an essential part of the company's continued success. Over the next two decades, Elliot and Mike worked together to build hundreds of custom homes, additions, remodels, and other residential projects while developing lasting relationships with trusted subcontractors and local suppliers.

In 2021, Elliot became Mike's business partner, and in 2026, he proudly assumed ownership of Nickelatti Construction Company as Mike entered retirement. Today, Elliot continues the tradition that has defined the company for more than 35 years: delivering superior craftsmanship, quality construction, and outstanding customer service on every project.

At Nickelatti Construction Company, we understand that your home is one of your most significant investments. Whether you're building your dream home, expanding your living space, or remodeling your existing home or business, we're committed to making the process as smooth and rewarding as possible. We are honored by the trust our clients place in us and take pride in building spaces that families will enjoy for generations.

Deep Local Roots Across the Region

Nickelatti Construction Co Inc is based in Stoddard, WI and has built and remodeled homes throughout Onalaska, Holmen, West Salem, and communities across the region. We work within one defined region by choice — staying close to the communities we serve keeps our team connected, accountable, and familiar with what it actually takes to build well here.

Working in the same area for over 30 years means we know the permit requirements and inspection processes in each municipality across the region. We have long-standing relationships with local subcontractors and regional material suppliers, so we are not guessing at lead times or availability. The regional climate — harsh freeze-thaw cycles, significant snow loads, and humid summers — directly affects how we design foundations, specify roofing systems, and select exterior materials. Clients who work with us get a contractor who has seen what holds up here and what does not. If you are ready to talk through a project, schedule a free consultationand we will get back to you promptly.

What Family Owned and Operated Means for Every Project We Build

These are the specific ways our ownership structure shows up in day-to-day project management — not as talking points, but as practical differences clients notice from the first call to the final walk-through.

Continuity From First Call to Final Walk-Through

Clients work with the same people throughout the project — not a rotating crew of strangers. That continuity means details discussed early in the process are still known and honored at the end. No knowledge gaps open up between planning and execution because the same team carries both.

Personal Accountability on Every Job Site

With a family-run operation, the principals have a direct stake in the outcome of every project. There is no corporate buffer between the client and the decision-makers. If something needs to be addressed, the person responsible is reachable and accountable.

Direct Communication With the People Doing the Work

Clients reach the team directly — not a customer service representative who relays messages. Questions about schedule, materials, or scope get answered by the people building the project, not filtered through an intermediary.

Quality, Service & Dependability Applied to Every Project

Quality, Service & Dependability is the standard we hold every project to — it means meeting agreed timelines, using materials that hold up in Wisconsin conditions, and following through on what was promised. We do not treat it as a slogan; we treat it as a checklist that applies to every job site, every subcontractor we bring on, and every conversation with a client.

Nickelatti Construction Is Ready to Talk Through Your Project

We offer free consultations, and when you call, you are talking to the people who will actually build your project. There is no sales team, no intake form that gets routed to a stranger. Just a straightforward conversation about what you want to build and what it takes to get there.
